A Journey of Hope and Rediscovery: Embracing Life After Cancer

I am beyond grateful to share with you the incredible experience I recently had as one

of the honored cancer thrivers/survivors in my city. This remarkable journey not only brought together five other inspiring individuals, but it also reminded me of the power of resilience and the beauty of life. Let me take you through the unforgettable moments that unfolded during this extraordinary weekend.

In the midst of a snowstorm, my fellow cancer thrivers and survivors rallied together to make this weekend truly magical. They went above and beyond, securing a hotel for both me and my daughter, ensuring our comfort and peace of mind. From arranging rideshares to taking care of every little detail, their thoughtfulness and generosity overwhelmed me.

The first day of this incredible journey was a whirlwind of indulgence and rejuvenation. I was treated to a luxurious facial, a blissful body massage, and the healing touch of acupuncture. As if that wasn't enough, I also had my nails done, leaving me feeling pampered and refreshed.

The following day was a dream come true. I was given the opportunity to embrace my inner supermodel as a team of talented professionals worked their magic. From the moment I sat in the stylist's chair, I knew something extraordinary was about to happen. My hair was styled to perfection, my makeup flawlessly applied, and I felt like a celebrity. The excitement reached its peak during the exhilarating photoshoot, capturing moments of pure joy and empowerment.

But the surprises didn't end there. To honor our journey and celebrate our resilience, a gala was organized in our honor. It was an evening filled with laughter, tears, and heartfelt speeches. As I looked around the room, surrounded by fellow survivors, I realized that I had not paid for a single thing throughout this entire experience. It was a moment of pure gratitude and a testament to the incredible support system that had uplifted me during my darkest days.

In the midst of this whirlwind adventure, a forgotten dream resurfaced. I had once pursued a career in modeling, with my work published in magazines during my younger years. Little did I know that this desire would be reignited just before receiving the email that I had been selected for this life-changing makeover. It was a powerful reminder that happiness can be found in unexpected places, and that life has a way of bringing us back to our true passions.

Reflecting on this incredible journey, I am filled with awe and gratitude. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would be alive, thriving, and experiencing such moments of joy after my battle with cancer. This experience has taught me to cherish every moment, to embrace the unexpected, and to never lose sight of the dreams that make our hearts sing. Life truly is a beautiful and unpredictable journey, and I am forever grateful for the love, support, and opportunities that have come my way.

before cancer.....

Before my breast cancer diagnosis, I was incredibly shallow. I was obsessed with my appearance and always striving to live up to the model image I had created for myself. I even dreamed of posing for Playboy one day. But after a double mastectomy, I am now so self-conscious that I can hardly recognize myself. It took me almost a month to look down at my chest after the surgery. I cried and cried for hours in the bathroom, wondering how this could be happening to me. I had always been so confident in my body, and now I felt like a stranger in my own skin. As a mother, I struggled with how to teach my daughter to be confident when I was struggling so much myself. How could I tell her to love herself when I didn't even recognize myself anymore? I was grateful for my surgeon's skilled hands and for getting the cancer out, but I hated the results. When people say that a mastectomy is not a boob job, they are right. The scars and the fact that I will never have sensation again at 34
